Day 1 - Chail
As you cross Chandigarh, the road winds through the Shivalik Range, presenting breathtaking views of lush green hills and dense forests. The journey is characterized by winding roads that meander through charming villages, providing glimpses of local life and traditional architecture.
As you ascend towards Chail, the air becomes crisp, and the scenery evolves, with panoramic vistas of the Himalayan foothills. The road is adorned with tall pine and deodar trees that create a canopy, casting dappled sunlight on the winding path. The beauty of the route is accentuated by occasional streams, meadows, and apple orchards that line the road, adding bursts of color to the landscape. The road trip from Chandigarh to Chail is not just a commute; it’s a visual odyssey that allows travelers to immerse themselves in the natural splendor of the Himachal Pradesh region, making the journey as enchanting as the destination itself.
Upon arrival and settling down in our comfortable haven, will absorb the serenity of the surroundings and immerse in the rhythm of guitar and warmth of bon fire.
Day 2 - Chail
Next morning, we will head towards Chail palace which is a historic structure that adds regal charm to this serene hill station. Chail Palace was built in 1891 by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala as a retreat after he was banned from Shimla. The palace was constructed on the top of Rajgarh Hill and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The architecture of Chail Palace is a blend of British and Indian styles. The palace is characterized by its grandeur, with ornate furnishings, magnificent rooms, and beautiful gardens. It was designed by the British architect, Sir Henry Irwin. The palace grounds include the Chail Cricket Ground, which is known as one of the highest cricket grounds in the world. Surrounded by thick deodar forests, the ground was leveled by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh to host cricket matches.
In the evening, will take a walk in Chail wildlife sanctuary which is a haven for nature lovers, located amidst the Deodar and Oak forests of Chail. The walk offers a tranquil environment for those seeking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the region.
Day 3 - Tirthan Valley
Embarking on a road trip from Chail to Tirthan Valley via Jalori Pass unfolds a mesmerizing expedition through Himachal Pradesh’s scenic wonders. The journey begins with the charming landscapes of Shimla, leading to Narkanda’s apple orchards and Hatu Peak’s panoramic views. As the road winds through Rampur’s historical allure, the ascent to Jalori Pass at 10,800 feet presents awe-inspiring vistas of the Himalayas, lush forests, and picturesque meadows. Descending to the quaint village of Shoja enveloped in cedar and pine forests, the route then takes you through Banjar’s apple orchards and traditional Himachali architecture. Finally, the enchanting Tirthan Valley, with its pristine landscapes, the meandering Tirthan River, and the renowned Great Himalayan National Park, welcomes travellers to a serene haven.
Day 4 - Tirthan Valley
In the morning, will explore Jibhi which is a serene and picturesque hamlet located in the Banjar Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Will head towards Sainj valley and Shangarh both of which are offbeat destinations that appeal to travelers looking for serenity and a genuine Himalayan experience. Whether you’re interested in exploring diverse ecosystems in the Great Himalayan National Park or immersing yourself in the tranquility of a traditional Himachali village, these destinations offer a unique and enriching experience. The valleys are known for its rich biodiversity, and the Great Himalayan National Park provides opportunities for trekking and wildlife enthusiasts. The serene ambiance and lush greenery make Sainj Valley an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility amidst nature. In the evening will explore some trails in the Great Himalayan national park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It was established in 1984 and covers an area of around 1,171 square kilometers. The valley is home to diverse flora and fauna, including various species of trees, medicinal plants, and wildlife. The region provides a habitat for species like the Himalayan tahr, blue sheep (bharal), musk deer, and numerous bird species.
Day 5 - Bir Billing
In the morning after having breakfast will continue our journey towards Bir billing which is a popular destination in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India, known for its paragliding activities and beautiful landscapes. Bir Billing is renowned as one of the best paragliding spots in the world. The site offers favorable wind conditions and stunning aerial views of the Dhauladhar mountain range and the Kangra Valley. The take-off site is Billing, situated at an elevation of approximately 2,400 meters, while the landing site is Bir, located at around 1,400 meters. Upon, arrival, will settle down and wander on the roads of Bir exploring the local market for handicrafts and renowned cafés of Bir for satisfying the taste buds.
Return to the comfort of the resort, indulge in a refreshing hot water shower, and then join us for a laid-back dinner in a tranquil outdoor setting.
Day 6 - Bir Billing
Will start the day with a short hike towards the gorgeous Gunehar waterfall can be reached through a short trek from the village and is surely going to be one of the most thrilling and enriching experiences of your life. The crystal-clear water cascading down the hillock is a pure visual delight. After lunch will head towards Billing, the take-off point for paragliding, is a meadow surrounded by oak and rhododendron forests. We can challenge our adventurous side for paragliding or can relax at the take off point and view the beautiful sunset.
Day 7 - Checkout
Reflected on the miles we have travelled, the memories we have created and the landscapes we have embraced. As the road trip concludes, here’s to the shared laughter, the unexpected turns, thrills and the beauty of the journey. It’s time to head back to your chosen destination. We part ways in Chandigarh with a promise to meet again!
